If the light isn't heating the water up(if it is, turn it off more), you can get 2 small pop(soda) bottles, fill them with water and freeze it. Float one in the tank, when it thaws put the other in and re-freeze the first one. How warm is the tank? They can handle warmer water, though they prefer cool water in the 68-72 F range. I have a small pond outside, and it's in the upper 80's now with this heat wave going on. I use the pop bottles, and change a little bit of the water out with cooler water every day.

If your tank isn't in direct sunlight there isn't much you can do. As long as it is a gradual process and the water doesn't get too hot, it will be fine for your gold fish.

I have a small fish pond outside and I have felt that water be quite warm. My fish are fine & healthy & have had them for 5 years like that.

you need to buy a cooling system from a local petstore. goldfish need cooler water and should be kept with just goldifsh or other cold water fish. if there is a petco by you, you can go online and check that they have an aquatics department, and then go in and talk to someone in the fish department. if they dont have a cooling package you can buy, theyll know where to buy one as they house goldfish there.

Is the light too close to the water or is it in sunlight a lot.... that could warm the water. Otherwise you might want to just change the water occasionally or add cold water...... make sure you don't poor it on the fish directly.

You can buy a chiller but they are somewhat expensive. I use a few ice cubes. Don't use to many though because a rapid drop in temp will stress the fish.

I assume you live in an warm area, where the roomtemperature is very high and with that your tank water

What you can do is buy a fan and blow it directly onto the tank, that should help a lot

Hope that helps
Good luck
