buying tickets from a scalper you do always run the risk of getting counterfeit tickets.

On the other hand, when I have bought tickets form e-bay, from a seller with over 150 feedback and 96% or better is positive... I have ALWAYS gotten real tickets... and I tend to get them for face value or less.

Unlike most sports teams that are happy to sell you tickets when you visit their site, the Red Sox basically send you to stubhub. The difference between stubhub and ebay is on stubhub the seller sets his price (which can be a daily declining price) and on ebay there is the auction concept. Stubhub has a buyer's guarantee, in that the seller had to give them his major credit card to register as a seller. If the tickets prove counterfeit, the buyer can claim to stubhub and get reimbursed by the seller. MLB and stubhub have entered into some kind of partnership, so buying off of stubhub is probably not frowned upon by the teams. I have bought Red Sox tickets on ebay and on stubhub and the only suggestion is to have an idea where you want to sit and check both ebay and stubhub for the better deal.

E-bay has the best deals.

Wait until close to game time and the sellers becomes desperate.

Good Luck
