The Knights Templar were arrested in France on Friday, October 13th, 1307 on orders from the King of France and the Pope.
Many Knights Templars were killed and hundreds were torchured and forced to sign false confessions.
The King was trying to take the Knights Templar's treasure but it left by boat during the previous night.
So, unlucky day for the Knights and unlucky day for the King.

As far as Fridays being unlucky it might have to do with Jesus' death but I am not sure. I do know that the number 13 is considered unlucky for a number of reasons. Since the last supper and covens of witches were already covered I won't go into details. Within Norse mythology the number thirteen was unlucky because that was the number of gods at the feast where Baldr was killed. Also there were thirteen steps on the ladders leading up to the Medieval gallows and beheading platforms. This is also why it was believed that walking under a ladder was bad luck as you were lead under the ladder then up it to your execution.

I am not that sure that I know exactly why people consider Friday the 13th "unlucky", or even why the number 13 is unlucky, but I have always assumed that Friday the 13th was the day Jesus Christ was crucified by the Roman Governor.

It isn't just believe it is. I won the lottery on Friday the 13th got a trip to Florida which I couldn't go because of Hurricane Katrina... This may seem coincidental but I still don't believe Friday the 13th is more unlucky than any other day of the year

As if to prove the point, the Bible tells us there were exactly 13 present at the Last Supper. One of the dinner guests — er, disciples — betrayed Jesus Christ, setting the stage for the Crucifixion.
Did I mention the Crucifixion took place on a Friday?

Friday was the day on which Christ was crucified. ... Judas was considered the 13th person at the table (of the Last Supper) and he of course, is the betrayer," outlines Dena Taylor, a U. of T. occult expert.
She notes Christians in the Middle Ages also believed witches met in covens of 13 - and the 13th member was the devil himself.
what a load of crap, I love Friday the 13th
