I want to set up a webcam outside my house as a security camera, but I don't want to drill a hole through the wall for the USB cable to my computer. Besides, I don't think they make USB cables long enough to reach my computer.

Is there a gadget (in two parts) that I could plug my webcam into outside, and it would transmit to a receiver attached to my computer inside?

I'm looking for something like this: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4105. However, I only need one port on the "sender," not four, and Ideally the "sender" would be battery powered since it will be outside.

Side question: What is isochronous USB? and does a Logitech QuickCam require it?

You need to look at a whole variety of products that might work for you. There are stand alone wireless video ("security") cameras that transmit to a base station and then cable to other stuff. I have one in front of me with the camera on the front porch. There is wireless USB. There are Bluetooth devices. There are wireless network devices and at the most expensive level there are the devices in the first answer which actually create an internet/website compatible access. Each combination has its own expenses. I suspect that, if you are happy with the webcams you are using wireless USB will be cheapest.

You need to look into Video over IP cameras -- these cameras are designed to work with standard TCP/IP networks (routers, switches, hubs, etc) -- the same stuff your computers use. This means you can connect to the cameras using Wifi.
