My sister and here boyfriend just broke up. She told me she ended it because when he came home from work he went to give her a hug and she pulled away because she felt not disgusted, but that she was not in love with him anymore. I have been in my relationship for 9yrs. and I do love my husband. How do you know when you are not in love anymore? How does someone just one day say I'm not in love anymore?How can one be so strong?Please help me. It is something I need to know.

Your sister probably has been feeling this way for some time.
But it just hit her all at once, that she didn't want to be with this guy and didn't love him like a woman loves a man. She fell out of love with him... Or could be she wasn't really IN LOVE to begin with. Some people may think they are in love to find out that they only want to be in LOVE.

It's kind of like falling in love. No one can really tell you how you'll feel when you fall in love you just feel it and you know. It's the same thing with falling out of love. It's not really something that you can explain you just know that you don't feel the same anymore. Now just because you are not in love with someone does not mean that you don't love them. You can still have very strong feelings for that person just not romantic ones.

Your sister may be sick and tired of the same old routine
with this guy. She may be feeling like she needs a fresh start.
She probably had good intentions with her boyfriend at the
start but relationships can get stale when there's no longer any feelings of fulfillment.
