Can I travel and still use wireless internet even if the place I go doesn't have a modem or internet?

no.. u need an ethernet connection to plug into it .. unless u get internet through ur mobile provider that is ...

No what you would need it a type of card that allows you to use the internet through Satellite. I believe theres a monthly service charge though like using a cell phone and several companies off the service. Its the best way to use your laptop on the road. Wireless internet doesn't work without a nearby router.

no, you would want a wireless broadband card through a cell phone provider to do that, like a Verizon Mobile Broadband account for instance.

Although you might get lucky and find an insecure WiFi location with your standard 802.11 a/b/g/n card just do a scan for available networks and you might get lucky

In the broadest sense of your question - No. If it doesn't have it, it doesn't have it. Then you get into discussions of WIFI, etc. How is the router supposed to perform without the services, by magic?
