It's all good, you're just normal. I would talk with your mom or other female relatives, to find out what is normal for your family. Otherwise, change your tampons more frequently & use some pads. The pleasure to be a woman. :)

If you are flowing like that and it is normal try using a smaller tampon and wearing a pad. Sometimes the blood just goes around the tampon. You'll just need to change sooner. If you are overweight and this is new...you may go for a checkup for thyroid. Sometimes hypothyroidism can cause a heavy flow. Really this doesn't sound that heavy. It sounds normal but only you know that for yourself. So, try that and maybe you just need to let it come on out...use a pad and change more often. Good luck.

Actually, that sounds pretty normal. You shouldn't be leaving a tampon in for any longer than 3-4 hours at a time, so it sounds about right. Tampax Pearls are great protection and even come in a box with various sizes, lite, regular & heavy.

If your period is that heavy, that's just normal and what you're going to have to deal with. Your age should have nothing to do with going on birth control to help you cope with your period. It's safe to go on birth control as a teenager and you don't need to be having sex to do it! I wish I had gone on it sooner! My period went from being really heavy and lasting almost 9 days to being light and lasting only 3 or 4 days tops.
