Is taking the plan b pill alot bad?

is takin the plan b alot over a period of time bad......i am not an idoit and have unprotected sex but my gf had to use it because the condom broke and i am just wondering incase it happens again

Ok, it would definately be a lot easier just to get her on some sort of birth control because yes, taking the plan b pill a lot is bad. It is a HUGE dose of hormones aimed at stopping the sperm from fertilizing the egg, it is not murder because nothing is fertilized yet, it's just keeping the sperm from doing anything to the egg. Taking this can cause serious pain and can even throw off her cycle because of all the hormones. It migh be ok to take it like once in one month and then take it like a year later, but definately not every week/month. That many hormones would throw her off so badly she would be mess. Please get her on the pill and refrain from using the plan b a lot.

My understanding of plan B is that it is basically a very large dose of the same hormones found in BC pills that you take every day. Plan B can make you very sick and uncomfortable, but I don't think it's dangerous. However, taking such large doses of hormones regularly would not be pleasant. Ask your girlfriend if she would consider getting a prescription for the pill, the ring, or another hormonal method of birth control. She could also consider an IUD or depo (a shot every three months).

If you can't afford these methods or get to a clinic for the meds, help her to chart her fertility by tracking her temperature and cervical mucus. It's not nearly as reliable as the other methods, but it would tell you the days you need to absolutely avoid having sex.

I don't think you should use it as a form of birth control. Pro-life freaks think its "murder"...but maybe your girlfriend should get on birth control so then you won't need to use a condom. She can go to Planned Parenthood and I believe birth control is free.
