I don't belive so, but it is not the smartest thing to do. Anyone can just take the money.

I would consider getting a money order and sending that. They normally dont cost anything more than a dollar, and it is a safe way to mail money.

Sure it's legal (unless you are sending it to another country - sometimes there are restrictions). It's just not safe. Anyone along the way can take it and you have no way of tracing it. Send a postal money order instead. The receiver only needs a picture ID to cash it at the post office.

It's not illegal but it's dumb. Write a check. If you don't have a checking account take the cash to wal-mart and get a money order. (Its like a check) Then that can be sent in the mail and the receiver can cash it.

Sure you can...just not wise. Not much different than mailing a check. Can't give you a source, since legal things aren't listed...just illegal things.

Not illegal per se.

If you are involved in some other criminal activity, though, you are compounding it by possibly committing mail fraud or money laundering

not illegal, but not advised. I've done it before though in small amounts, not a big deal.

It's not illegal, but it's pretty stupid.
