2800 BC--43 AD--313 AD--450 AD--570 AD--700 CE--701 AD--731 AD--858 AD--1042 AD--1066 AD

AD and CE mean the same thing (AD is Latin for "Anno Domini" or "Year of our Lord" and CE stands for either Common Era or Christian Era). BC means "Before Christ", and the years counted backwards. The AD/CE years count forward.

Why can't you? Smaller numbers come before larger numbers...BC is before AD, and CE is the same as AD.
