I'm from Arkansas and I have a couple of problems with Huckabee.
1. He lost weight now he wants to force everyone around him to be like him.
2. A triplewide moble home was bought for him to live in when the governors mansion was being remodeled.
3. By pressing his Christian morals he has completely forgotten that the US has other religions.
4. Arkansas has a huge immgrant problem
5. Huckabee is not a protector of freedom or rights.
6. Mike Huckabee only thinks about what is right for himself and his god.
His is NOT Bill Clinton.
Please note: i'm not writing a anticampain speech I'm only concerned as a voter and a person who lives in his state. I m also not endorsing anyone either. I am only voicing my thoughts.

The guy is a total hypocrite. A fool.
I HOPE that he's who the Republican party puts forward as their guy (they're all guys). It'll be fun to watch him get his butt handed to him.

Huckabee is probably the most electable of the Republicans. He does not scare off the Republican base like Giuliani does. As a governor, he has not had to cast unpopular votes on issues in Washington and will be free to campaign toward the center in the general election.
There is a reason why a sitting Senator has not been elected since 1960 and no sitting Representative has been elected since the beginning of the television era.

Well, I've got to say that all the things you listed sound like the hallmark of a Republican wet dream candidate. I've been wondering why the party isn't backing him more, he seems to fade into the background but he has all their "standards" locked up. He could be the dark horse candidate for the Republicans if Thompson doesn't get off his duff and do something soon. I think after the experience of Bush and his courting of the Religious Right, that many voters will shrink from a candidate who talks about his religion so loudly. That could be good for the Democrats in the long run.

Huckabee has both my support and my financial contributions.
I figure anyone who protests the fact that a man is a good Christian, an honorable husband and father, and willing to temporarily live in a trailer instead of demanding a suite at the Ritz, will NEVER support a Conservative anyway.

I don't see why he wouldn't be electable. He has an uphill battle against the candidates with alot more money, but he suprised people by his showing in the Iowa Straw Poll. None of the things you mentioned particularly hurt him, after all, he is running for the Republican nomination.

I don't know that much about Huckabee yet, but none of your opinions about him would stop me from voting for him. Everything I've heard so far about him sounds very positive.

i seriously doubt it.
he's a bit too extreme for most of the country. romney and giuliani have a lot more pull than he does. huckabee, brownback, and tancredo are really not able to pull the moderate republicans in.
without them? any candidate is not going to be elected.
