I want to read about everything: the war, our economy, what is working what's not working etc. Where do I start? Anyone have some good websites that can get me started?

Sorry, don't know any good websites, but no doubt you can find them.
Where to start? A good education. The library.
Read the Constitution, its Preamble, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Mayflower Compact. Read some college textbooks on economics. DON'T LISTEN TO CNN or even ABC, CBS, NBC, or FOX.
Get some good atlases, gazeteers, learn about the facts of the place.
That is just for starters.

This is really hard as each publication will have its own slant. I would suggest first looking at how you think this all started and then start your research with publications that you trust. There are all sorts of theories.. and you will always have someone that disagrees.. but you just need to do your due diligence and then from there develop an opinion.

Unfortunately, I am not sure anyone ever truly had or has a clear path of where it all began and where it is headed.

I wish you well!

You need to have more than one source. All news media is slanted by the writer to reflect his point of view, sooooooo, what you need to do is get 2 different newspapers daily. Read columns from AP, Associated Press, and Reuters, all on the same subject. Watch CNN, and FOX. At this point you have to deduct what is true, and what may not be true. It is difficult to get the True story today.

read everything you can find and decide for yourself. Look at the facts. Its 2yrs after katrina and americans are still homeless from it. Bush says he still looking for bin laden HA!
all our corperations are outsourcing and our trade deficit will take the programs we paid for like medicare and social security to help pay foriegn govs;. china controls the american $$$ which is not worth much and our economy is a shambles. People need to quit being so naive.

I definitely would not take to heart most of what you here on YA - because so many want to lead you astray and change you to their way of thinking.

How about the Library?

People claim that the liberals are controlling the media, you need to read history before you can make a legitimate claim on knowing what is going on. Start with a history book.
