Please be honest. If your only son was gay you couldn't pass your name on in addition to not having any grandkids.

There's no "teaching" being gay. If you have a son you accept them for who they are otherwise you won't see any grandchildren anyways.

And family name is so irrelevant. So if you had girls, you'd be disappointed? They're worthless?

I don't know. Can you teach someone not to be??? I think they will choose what they want in the end. I'd just love him and believe in him.

It wouldn't matter to me. He could do whatever he wants. You didn't say we couldn't have daughters.

I do have only one son. I do not teach him to "not be" anything. I teach him as best I can TO be kind, inquisitive, empathetic, analytical, strong and true to himself. I hope he will grow up to become a good man with a happy, fulfilling life. Everything else (including his sexual orientation) is comparatively unimportant.
