I listen to the way they say it... We don't control HOW we say things. I also watch out for the body language, because it is the most honest way of communication between people. But after all that, I can safely make up my mind on accepting or rejecting the statement made.

a lot of uhmming and silent periods come with lies also watch the eye movements if they look left their lying if they look directly at you or to the right their telling the truth or at least thats how body language officials tell the police lol
the fact is you never know when your being lied to until the truth is revealed and even then they may lie about it to get themselves out of it I dont think there is any real answer or way of telling

Statements cannot be proved. They are believed. How can you tell when you are being lied to?: well, there's no sure-fire way to tell. However, based on experience, we can state some general rules. When people act nervous, when it SEEMS very unlikely to be true, when they SEEM to be hiding something. Of course, there are many other ways to tell. And, it's also a case by case endeavor.

I dont always believe something that is given to me 100%. There are always doubts. I can usually tell when someone is lying to me. If they take too long to respond, if they avoid eye contact, if they fidget and seem uncomfortable.
