All the answers are valid opinions.
The real answer is that each component of the Mac computer is designed to becompletely compatible with each other component, unlike clones which are built from a myriadof parts from many different factories and sometimes not too friendly with each other.
Result : More stable operation with virtually NO crashes.
Proof of Macs reliablity over PC's is that several user groups like the AMERICAN ARMY, SEVERAL leading Universities and many corporations have switched to MACS. PC mag says that it was because the cost of constant repair was just too much. Switching to Macs saved them millions.
Having said all that, MAC owners are the lonliest people on earth. For years many programs just did NOThave a MAC version.
In our 600 member computer club we had 2 or 3 Mac users and they were never able to communicate with the rest of us so they QUIT the CLUB.
Finally in my city I know about a dozen techies. NONE of them will go on a MAC call since they do not have MAC certification.
So there you have it. My advice is make sure that ALL the programs you want to use are available on the machine you buy.

I personally believe that Macs are the best computer to have, I have owned both Apple computers and Windows Computers. I have experienced a faster, more sophisticated, and more stylish computer with my MacBook.
Despite the myths, Macs are not immune to all internet viruses, however they are at less of a risk then Windows. This is because most hackers target a larger market, meaning the more mainstream Window's users. I personally haven't contracted a virus on my computer and as far as I know I have no spyware.
Hope this helps!

Macs are great. Macs cannot get PC viruses. There are very few Mac viruses because Mac owners are usually not the kind of people who invent viruses. Macs are so much more user-friendly than PCs will ever be. And yes, there is spyware available for Macs. Almost every great feature on your PC was invented by the Mac people first.

Macs can get viruses, its just virus writers focus on windows computers more because the majority of the world uses windows, so it will spread faster.
I have no idea, I like windows, it is so much better in my opinion.
