gigue12000,

Of course it doesn't seem natural to you... you're not gay.

Heterosexuality doesn't seem natural to me... I'm not straight. Does that mean it was a choice for you to be straight? Or that you shouldn't be allowed to get married to the person that you love if you so desire?

The point is, you don't have to "get it." You don't have to give me your approval. I am a human being - I laugh, cry, do the dishes, and pay the rent. I work, I have friends, and I have found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. Two people in a committed, loving relationship should have the chance to realize their hopes and dreams. We humans are full of diversity and I'm sure you wouldn't deny the rights and responsibilities of marriage to a bi-racial couple, because you know that love is love, even when their skin colors are different. And love is love, even when their genders are the same.

And to all of you who are tired of people "flaunting" their sexuality in your face: YOU try being in the closet for a month! Don't allude to your sexuality with comments of people whom you find attractive or talk about your family; don't make any physical contact with your significant other in public; don't say "I love you" when there are other people around. What you do in the privacy of your own home is your business, but I don't want your straightness shoved down MY throat.

The reason that the famous gay "ghettos" of San Francisco, West Hollywood, Provincetown, Massachusetts and others have come into existence is simply that gay people have felt much more safe and secure among their own kind. This is the same reason that for centuries, Jews, Native Americans, blacks, Latinos, Chinese and many other minorities have gathered together in their own "ghettos." The cost of this ghettoization has been high -- families are torn apart, talented people end up chronically underemployed, friendships lost and loneliness and a sense of rejection become lifelong companions. But it need not be this way. The "gay ghettos" wouldn't exist if gay people felt at home in a heterosexual world. And that would be possible, if the fears that drive heterosexuals to reject homosexuals, didn't exist.

Homophobia is a learned behavior that is shaped by culture and environment. This can be corrected by proper therapy. Often times the behavior is learned from watching the actions of the parents or caregiver, or peers once the person becomes older. Often times "faux homophobia" is seen in homosexuals that fear others finding out about their orientation. Either way, this disorder is treatable with therapy and will be a psychological diagnoses once the new DSM is published.

***** A phobia is a FEAR, it is not about disliking someone or something.*****

Fear mostly. Fear of (1) that which they don't fully understand, (2) punishment by their God of choice, (3) being ridiculed or accused of being gay for empathizing with the gay cause, or (4) admitting to themselves that at some point, they have had or currently are having a homosexual encounter or feelings.

They are very lonely and closed minded people. They think the Bible is the true way to salvation. There are other books than Romans. Remember "closet" has a whole bunch of difinitions.

when a straight couple hold hands or kiss its fine but when a gay couple hold hands or kiss its wrong to some people (which i dont understand) there is nothing wrong with two people who love each other show how they feel for example a gay couple could be on a bus one could have their arm around the other other and gave them a kiss (no tongue) but people would start looking at them as soon as they on get on the bus but a straight couple, its fine gay couple can show how much they care for their other just as any straight couple

They think that is the way God created them. But I do not think so. I think they have been brainwashed by greedy pastors who find, for what ever reason, fear and hate sell better than love.

yup. Good contention of yours. Congratulations. It is good to love and be love and this is the teachings of God. If your enemy hate you, never mind, just love him. That is where we are living to love one another.

Love may be love, but I do not parade around with my heterosexuality for all to see...any people who do I beg to get a hotel room. I don't need to see your sexuality, nor do I need it to become a political party. Love is love, not politics.
