I've seen a similar question on here about the name JATHAN.... I just don't see the issue with it. My son is 3 and his name is Jathan.... Whats the big deal??? It's different, and he won't be one of 20 kids in his class with the same name. Also people keep saying that it's a made up name.... well i got it out of a baby name book. It's not a made up name. So whats the big deal?

I'm not a fan of it.
If you like it, what does it matter what others think?

When you think about it, aren't all names made up? So what does it matter? No, I'm not a fan of those completely made up names, like LaQuandisha, or whatever people can come up with, that are completely impossible to pronounce. I like names that MEAN something, not just 2 names put together. But Jathan sounds alright, I wouldn't name my kid that or anything, but I don't see the problem with it, at least it can easily be pronounced. And you sad you got it out of a baby book, so it's a real name, right?

I'm not a big fan of that name Jathan, but I've seen several babies of late named Jathan. Its not a favorite, but its ten times better than some other names I've heard which are just an embarrassment to the child, and proof of the parents' ignorance. Jathan is fine.

Hey, Whitney, 'Bronwyn' is an ancient Welsh name, not a made-up name!

Jathan sounds weird to me. Just my opinion. Half way between Nathan (Hebrew) and Jason (Ancient Greek).

Hang on, I did a web search - Jathan is the Latin version of the Hebrew 'Jonathan'..... well, waddya know?!!

hey you could of named him superman or 4ever like that one couple, at least there the government has a say to protect the poor kid. Jathan is fine. Mine are Blaise and Shalee. I thought they were unique but even in a small school we had some that were pretty close.

Jathan is a great name. This is the first time I have heard it and I love it! My best friend is pregnant and looking for little less ordinary but still normal sounding name so I might sugest this to her!

Who cares even if it would be a made up name? Thats not a reason to critic a name and say you can't choose it. I like your choice, it is unique. I bet your kid will love it as he gets older, Nathan is soo common. If some don't like it its their choice, but I would say why hate it?? its not like its weird. You did a fine job.
