No.......although my dad and I have similar personalities I am responsible for all of my screw ups

I used to blame EVERYBODY for my faults! But then there came a point when there was nobody left to blame but myself. My family cut me off. My only friends were my "getting loaded" friends. My life was the way it was because of the choices and decisions that I made. Ever since I was a teenager, I wanted to make my OWN decisions. I wanted to live MY life. I thought I knew everything.
I'm grown now. I'm clean and sober now. I work the 12-steps. I now know that the choices and decisions that I make are mine and mine alone. I also know that my choices and decisions not only effect me, but they also effect my husband, son and the family that allowed me back into their lives.
I take responsibility for myself.

No I can only really blame myself. And no my parents didn't make me feel that I'm to blame for everything.

Sometimes I do. They were divorced when I was 5 which was traumatizing enough, but my father didn't spent any quality time with us afterwards. Honestly I don't have any good childhood memories of my father. I just wished they were more encouraging and supportive, especially in high school.
