Every time I stress out, I get cold sores. The first answerer was right. Abreva is the only stuff I have tried that works. I also used ice and cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide. It took less than a week for mine to clear up.

Abreva--it's over the counter at Walgreens/Wal-Mart, etc. And works great. Even makes a cold sore not appear if you put it on when you first feel the 'tingle'. Also, take L-lysine tablets as an increase in that will help lower your arginine ratio, which is known to cause cold sore outbreaks. Good luck!

Yes! Try dabbing the sore spot only with a little toothpaste! It really has worked for me! Any toothpaste will work. It will dry out, but gently wash it off after a few hours and re-dab again; a couple of times a day until it is better. Of course, do this at home.

It is Kanga just for healing cold sores sold at Walgreens and Wallmart, CVC Pharmacy. Look for a very small brown bottle. Also salt water does help

My son has these, and using ice held on the sore as long as you can stand it seems to help. It won't make them vanish, but somehow it seems to trigger them to start healing.
