They aren't going to block a war budget because they don't care what the people think. They want to win the war now because they would rather stay in a losing war than be the party that quit the war. They only said they are going to end the war to get votes and now they are not doing it because they don't care about what people want! and the people will vote for them next time they lie. And the time after that because they do not care if their party does not care.

They won't block a war budget, but they'll tie troop withdrawls to a war budget. It seems like the smart thing for them to do, at least politically, polls are showing two things 1) Most Americans definitely do not support the President on this war and want to see an end game, BUT, 2) Most Americans would rather see troop withdrawls tied to a war budget rather than see the Dems simply refuse to pass one. So, I'm sure that's exactly what the dems will end up doing, alot of Republicans in congress, especially ones from swing states realize that their jobs are now on the line, so their support for the President is waning.

In my opinion that is a prejudicial question and answer. A lot of ex-service people are against the war too. Mainly because now that Saddam is no longer available we should not be there either. But we are, why? Because of the oil and for no other reason. If you would check your facts first you would see that there are Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Green Party people against the war too. It is just the uninitiated few who always have an opinion, but no facts to back them with at any time. Again in my opinion.

The Dems will not block a war budget with an election next year. The rhetoric has to be to the far left right now in order to secure the base, but when they get down to the brass tacks of it the Democrats as well as Republicans know that we will be in Iraq at least until 2010 and undermining the troops that they intend to command would be political suicide. I find it comical how driven the political season seems to have become...way too early for anyone to care except for the base...kind of preaching to the choir don't you think?

At least 7 out of 10 Americans no longer support the Iraq war. They are not all Democrats but they will vote Democratic in 2008 if Dubya' & Dirty Dick don't start pulling our troops out of there.

Didn't you see the YouTube video recently? Cheney in 1994 said it wouldn't be a good idea to invade Iraq and take over Bagdhad.

well... can you "not support the war"... yet want to leave in an organized manner that could give Iraq a decent chance?

most dems say yes... they don't want to leave tomorrow, they want to focus on turning the nation over to Iraq on a deadline that's not too far away.. like a year...

basically... give them a year to get everything straight...

this is what almost every democrat candidate said during the 2006 elections...

and blocking a war budget wouldn't get that done...

Only if they can get enough Republicans on board to pass it through. They've got a few now but it isn't enough. It might change after Gen. Petraeus gives his report, we shall see.
