Odd that you ask that question when most of the avatars in this place make some one look like a child, and makes you think that anyone who is interested in you because of your avatar must be a pedophile.
I remember this one girl put a picture of herself on the internet as her avatar that made look like a cross between Mandy Moore and Britney Spears if you know which CD covers I am thinking about and her quetsion of the day was "Do I look hot?" to which most men answered "Yes" or something more suggestive. A day later she posted a school photo along with a change in her profile. "My mother made me change my Avatar. I am only 13" You can imagine the types of responces she received from that moment forward changed.
You can also image how many men have their wives' photos up on the internet and how many women have their husbands' photos on the internet.
There are graphics people use that make them seem like they are something that they are not.
I could go on but I think I already made this pointin a previous question that you can not judge a person by what they look like but more by what they say that attracts you to them in the first place.
And, I am not talking about the content of their writing as much as the style of their writing.
Some people are polite, or friendly, or happy, or willing to share or willing to listen, or willing to care and that is special. You can feel that in their writing. You can trust that they have something genuine in them that you like.
For an internet relationship it is key that you find that something special, because as many have found out, most people disagree on thing. I have a 27% BAs because most people do not agree with me. I came across a person with better than 80% BAs yesterday which makes me wonder what is up with that. Of course I wonder that when I see 50 or better. The point is that it is unusual to find people you agree with on everything. I don't expect it. I am hoping others feel the same.
After all, opposites do attract and too much of the same can be boring.
But I think appearance is a statement and hopefully not a very deceptive one. It would be upsetting to think you looked like Hallie Berry only to find out that you actually look like Frankenberry. That would say you cared enough to hide the true you for a fake you.
I have told many before that I chose no avatar because it makes you prejudge me. The little green halo and orange tag have cost me more trouble than they are worth because people prejudge me on that appearance alone. If I added an avatar they would think about my age, my ethnicity, my place of origin and I am not saying that they do not do that anyway but at least this way they have to read me to figure that out and hopefully they find out first that certain something in my writing that attracted them to me is always there and is probably more important than the other stuff, especially in an internet relationship.
And BTW, I did find it hilarious that somebody wants me to fight Judas Rabbi. Having read some of his stuff I can only say he better practice his prose because my answers go the distance while his are quick and to the point. If I didn't have to close off my Q&A to most people these days people would still know that. But while he is loved by thousands, (I checked and he had more than 2000 question about him), I am thumbed wherever I go. He would definitely have the crowd on his side. I am surprised they have not given him his own section by this point. He is that popular.
Anyway, the question is about me and how I fit into this poll so I can't say looks are irrelevant but I can't say I only answer the questions of pretty people. And I do not answer the people who use genitals as an avatar. It bugs me that people see themselves that way.

I don't even try to imagine what anyone on here looks like.
I just know they sure don't look like their avatars unless it's their own picture. Think I could love for personality very easily.

not only on cyber relationships, before we fall in love, we tend to be infatuated on the the physical feature of the opposite sex, then that infatuation will trigger lust, as we get to know that person, by being with him and discovering his attributes, we develop the feeling of acceptance and affinity to that person that will soon lead to love. but if the opposite sex is not worthy enough, i mean, lets say, the personality is kinda twisted and it doesn't compliment ours and we don't feel any chemistry and compatibility with him, that affinity will soon vanish. so physical appearance plays the initial role but not the primary foundation of relationship.

it is all in appearance ,, how one looks.. if it was not so why so much fashion shows, cosmetic sales, cosmetic surgery, even tatoo in and navel piercing and nipple piercing ... all for charming the other... woman want to look beautiful and man wants beautiful woman.. So Appearance is all important in real life or internet relationship ...

Happiness is always key in any relationship. If you enjoy their company then everything else shouldn't matter.

Honesty is the most important!
Looks really don't matter as long as they don't deceive you!
