The fearless series would be great!! Try going to barnes and noble and go to their teen section that way you would be able to get a better feel for the books you like in your age group.

This is probably going to be a common answer based on recent events, but the Harry Potter series are fantastic and are not just books for children; they deal with many things teenagers around the world go through, plus they are beautifully written. If you haven't read them because you are afraid of being a "nerd," read them any way: everyone that does falls in love with them.

Aside from Harry Potter and Stephenie Meyer books people are suggesting, you can try:
Dead Girls Dont Write Letters
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

check out the site for the rebecca caudill award, www.rebeccacaudill.org which is an award given locally here in illinois to the best in young adult literature. On the site there is an extensive listing of all the past and present winners and nominees. They're all excellent books.

My ABSOLUTE favorite books (I'm a teen) are "The Thief," "The Queen of Attolia," and "The King of Attolia" by Megan Whalen Turner. They are a series. I've read each one over and over again, and still enjoy them immensly. Turner created a truly wonderful character that developes throughout the books. I INSIST you check them out!

I have never read any of those books, but I would suggest "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" "Girl of the moment" and "breakfast at bloomingdales." All very good books.
