There is constantly a reason for failure. We had the minority. We only have a small majority. Give me a break, at least try!

A mj issue was the Iraq war. Latest polls say hold off until we get the report in Sept. That has halted that.

Immigration is a very sticky issue right now, neither side wants to get off of the fence.

Really, I think BOTH sides are in a holding pattern unless you are running for office.

I am a conservative, but, if you believe in the policies of the Dems or Libs, write your rep and tell them exactly what you want to see. That way if they do not at least TRY to give you what you want, you do not have to vote for them next time.

PS

When you are researching if they tried, also write the office and ask a neutral q, such as, what have you done on the immigration issue vs What have you done to secure our border.

The point of representative government is to allow change.... slowly. If the government could totally rewrite all rules overnight after one party won the election, civilization would be a see-saw every election. Instead, there is a need to build consensus and convince a majority that change is needed. It's hard, slow work. Frustrating. But being able to change it all too quickly just because a new group has a new majority after an election would be worse still.

We've spent our time on political bigotry and sedition.

We should have been establishing our values.

Some of our representatives took advantage of that and let us vote them into office on the basis of how well they called people names or spread unfounded rumors about them.

When they got into office, they saw how the situation really was and didn't follow through on their promises.

Happens to most outsiders going in. Lot's of promises when they have little to know information; lot's of information and intelligence later they realize how dumb their promises were, and "flip-flop", or, as I and most patriotic Americans call it, "Change their minds based on the newest data, wisely, rather than keep a position they know now is wrong."

Vote for ethics, and don't vote for political bigotry, like I do (I'm a democrat). If they demonstrate playground bullying, they lose my vote.

Simple.

Been wondering that myself. I think they get more done blocking lefties than actually trying to govern.

BOTH parties are totally stagnated.
Toss them ALL out and elect people who can LEAD.

Better question to ask yourself. "Why am I still a member of a party?"
