Plus I'm still in elementary cause I go to Catholic school and Grade 8 is still elementary. And I don't really have much friends, So I don't have anyone to lend me a tampon, and we don't really have a specific school nurse so it would be too freakish to ask them for a pad. I know this is much but I'm stuck. Any help?

Well definately do NOT wear tampons if you havent started your period. I think you should relax about it, if it worries you that it will happen at school then pack one of your mom's pads in yuor backpack...this way even if you dont get it while you are at school you can still feel safe because you ahve something just in case.

well, i got my period when i was 12, it was the first day of school, at a brand new school, but i didnt realize till i got home, but it was not a problem, because when you first get your period, it comes very slowly, and usually it is not the colour of blood on your first day, it is more brown, and then it will turn to red flowing blood around the third day of your first period, and if you do happen to get your period at school, i am sure you have friends that already have it, or the office always has pads, and if you wear thongs then keep a pair of normal underwear in you school bag if you are not comfortable wearing tampons. Well i hope i have helped, and good luck!

for the whole not comfortable situation, well you no there is nothing us women could do about it, and if a boy found out you had it anyways, they would almost be jelous because usually they dont go through puberty till around 14. I felt uncomfortable at first and i always thought that everyone could see my pad, and on top of that if i wasnt wearing dark jeans, i thought that maybe it leakedd through, so in orger to be more comfortable, wear dark pants when you have your period(when you get it) and a long t-shirt, or a sweater to tie around your waist...*just in case*. But yeah, i mean there is nothing you cando to stop it from coming, so you have to accept it, just like evry other woman. And do you have a female teacher that you feel comfortable around? because she will have one. Or just go tot he office and say that you have to speak with the principal, and they will give you one privatly, that way no one will see. Or just tell the school that you have to call home because you are not feeling well, and call a neighbor, or parent, and ask them if they can drop one off. but what you can really do is get an old foundation or cover up case, and crunch a pad in their, and then put that in your school bag / purse. Good luck hun.

Remember to always carry some kind of pad with you; in a purse, pocket or book bag. When it does start & if you need to change your pad go to the school nurse. I am sure she gets this all the time. If you do end up having an "accident" that shows try to tie a sweater/jacket around your waist to hang down over your backside & see the nurse or teacher about your need to go home & change. This happened to me freqently - I would never go to school without a kangaroo jacket (zip up hoodie in todays language) & a supply of pads along. My situation was rare - a hormonal imbalance thing causing very heavy bleeding. Try not to worry too much & best wishes for an easy adjustment to womanhood.

I am 13 and got my period a couple months ago...at a classmates house while we had to work on a project!! I was'nt even friends with her, but I snuck to the bathroom, checked under the sink to see if there were any pads, and if there wasn't any I would have just wrapped toilet paper in my underwear until I got home. Don't worry about it. Ever since I learned about getting periods I was paranoid for years. If you are worried about getting it at school ask your mom or if you are too embarressed try to just take one of her pads (or tampons) and stick it in a pocket of your backpack. Or if you are extra brave, (unlike me) ask your school nurse or a nice teacher if they happen to have any. Just say you are having a "girl" problem. When I say that to my parents they immediatly understand. And don't worry, if all else fails, I'm sure some of your friends have had their period and have some pads.

You could always go over these fears with your mother she is aware of the fact you are about the age that should happen. Your Mom could help you come up with a plan like to carry a pad with you or if need be you could call her if that happens and she could come and check you out if that is necessary.

I hope your Mom is someone you can confide in she has to deal with periods herself and knows exactly how you feel.

Maybe just keep a pad in your purse in case or if you get it and you don't have anything I'm sure the school nurse has something but it's MUCH better to ask a friend.

you could:
1. take a few pads and a change of underwear to school.
2. take a few quarters and keep them in your backpacks just in case.(not as embarassing)
3. if it does happen just use toliet paper and make kind of like a pad until you can get home..
4. go to the health room..they have everything you need there...
5. ask a friend

Keep a pad in your bag, for just in case you start. I never knew when to expect my period, it was never regular when I was at school, so I always made sure that I had a spare pad or two in my bag. I don't use tampons.

Usually the schools will be equipped with emergency supplies. They're nothing elegant, but when you need something, you need something. Ask at the front office if you ever come across the situation. I'm not sure if all schools do that, but where I live they do...
