authors like to set their novels and short stories in NY. what NY can contribute in funny and tragedy story? please help me out with a little details..thanks.

I think because NY is the center of the world. Everything is here. We are so culturally mixed and have so many different experiences - from Broadway to the museums to everything. Then there is the song - if I can make it there I can make it anywhere... NY is special and unique. Those of us who are here never want to leave. If you have never been here - come and visit. It is the most alive place on earth by far. That is why we survived 9/11 - because our city is so full of life nothing can bring it down. I write books set in NY myself. I love my city. Pax- C
