I live in central Kentucky and ran into this spider today. It was in a big web in between two bushes. It is furry and had really long legs. Also it was really fast.

No it is not a wolf spider nor does it look like one. It is a type of orb weaver. I will be back when I remember exact type.

It appears to be a type of arboreal orb weaver. I thought it might be a marble spider but it appears to be too hairy.

Looks like an orb-weaver, likely Neoscona arabesca or something in the Eriophora or Aranea. Check the links.

Jeff's right. It's one of the Araneid orb weavers. Hard to tell exactly which kind, as there's no distinctive pattern visible on the abdomen.

coll...this is not a brown recluse it is a commen spider there are thousands of different types of spiders !!!! i looked it up in my cooll. books and i at 1st thought it maybe was a brown re... but no and sorry its the one in a zillion kind

looks like a wolf spider. However, wolf spiders don't usually build/live in a web.
