It might work, but the S/N or Hex number might be reported lost or stolen. If the phone is otherwise operable and not assigned to an account, there is no reason it shouldn't work.

I work for Verizon so I can tell you the best solution is to try and have Verizon activate it for you by either bringing it into the store or calling over the phone. Due to the phone possibly being labeled lost/ or stolen you may not be able to activate it. Dont worry, Verizon wont try and "take" the phone for you or anything, we'll just inform you whether or not we can activate it. Good luck ;)

Hello, I work for Verizon. The best thing to do is to go to a local store, esp if you found the phone, it may be stolen, it may be lost and it may owe a balance on the phone and that may not allow you to activate. The phones codes are on the inside of the battery charger, ISDN #s and this is whats used to see if the phone is stolen, lost or has a balance. I would take it to the store though and explain you found this and if everything checks out okay and you pass the credit checks you would be able to activate it and choose plans, it may be even be outdated equipment.

As you have found out, Verizon telephones interior the U. S. do no longer use a sim card. maximum telephone vendors, Verizon secure, provides you with a substantial decrease cost on your purchase while sign in for provider. additionally even the perfect telephones could have problems and it confident is far less demanding to get them repaired below guarantee in case you have bought them from the service. additionally verify what the cost is on your service to turn on the telephone. bear in mind which you will could desire to reactivate your previous telephone if the hot one does not artwork. the only reason i could evaluate a non supplier purchase is that if it have been for an extremely costly telephone and that i wasn't eligible for a supplier decrease cost. e.g. Verizon has a "New for 2" software that provide you with a $one hundred credit to replace your telephone each and each 2 years.

if you can, you might just want to make it easy on yourself and go to a verizon store to activate it... that's what I did.
