anorexia could cause brain damage by either trauma from passing out or lack of glucose which the brain needs. also, it can cause systemic or total body problems whereas bulimia is more specific to the digestive tract. but that doesn't mean it isn't as worse or even more so that anorexia. depending on the conditions, for how long, and frequency, then one can make a choice as to which is worse.
i would say bulimia is worse as the symptoms are rapid and can be long lasting (scarring, bleeding, and such).
as for calling it a disease...that seems to stigmatize the person that has it as if it could be passed on, it is more of a disorder.

You have just said it is something you are choosing. So, regardless of which way you go, the end results are the same for both--which is death if intervention doesn't occur. I worked in the EDO (eating disorder) unit of a state psych unit for 5 years and you are right that it is irreversible once the disease process is started. The body is a perfectly to function like a well oiled machine. When you tamper with God's creation, everything goes haywire. For instance, in the EDO unit you will be put on house arrest so to speak, you won't be allowed to toilet without a staffperson watching, you will be forced to eat with supervision of each bite of food, or get a feeding tube while you are restrained with straps across your entire body to hold you down to take the feeding. You will have to participate in classes to change your thinking processes back to normal, and the list goes on. The patients learned day one that their choices were gone from that point on. It's close to being in a concentration camp. So, make the choice either way. It's a choice not to have a choice with your life. The other choice you can make now, you didn't mention, is to seek help from a mental health professional. The disease is an mental illness which will require therapy one way or the other. Good luck with your choice.

They are both equally terrible diseases. Each of them put a great strain on all of your vital organs. Bulimia is basically teasing the body. Once the person eats they purge before the body even has a chance to maintain any vital nutrients that the body needs in order to function properly. Consistent vomiting will affect your vocal chords and esophagus. Anorexia is flat out starvation of the body. Your organs will shut down, your hair will fall out and you will eventually cease to exist.
Look at your body like a car. A car needs gas to run right? Well you need to look at food like it is the gas for your body. Your body needs food in order to properly function. Premium gas...fruits, veggies, nuts and protein.

I think that the preoccupation on food, either too little or too much, is about the same hell!! They both avoid the issure of maturing to a sexual mature being/woman, usually, and focus on food!!!! It doens't matter which is "worse", since it all requires intense psychotherapy to "get on" with maturing to a young woman capable of reproduction!!!

they're both bad, but with bulimia, after eating you have to be near a bathroom since your going to be throwing up. it really sucks when your out on a date and you have a picnic or something like that and after eating you dont have any place to go because your probably at like a park or something.

im pretty sue bulemic is worse becuase it damages your eshophagus and can rupture your stomach and causes bad breath and the sounds you make everytime you throw up is just foul and no one wants to hear it.
with anorexia its still rele bad, dont get me wrong, cause without food and water and stuff you could de-hydrate and your stomach probably would ache for food so bad you would end up eating anyway.

When it comes down to it, there is no better or worse condition. They are both equally destructive on the human body. They say to chose the lesser of two evils, but in this case there is no lesser one. Both are equally detrimental to one's health.
