What kind of fish can I put in a 5 gallon tank? It is complete with lighting, a filter, an aerator, and decorations. (including gravel.)

Check this site out. It'll probably give you the best advice on stocking a 5 gallon tank. http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97203
Despite what a lot of people say, don't follow the 1 inch per gallon rule. It is inaccurate!
Good luck on your search!

A male betta would work, or maybe 1 or 2 female bettas as long as they get along. But NEVER put 2 male bettas in the same tank!

Otherwise, a small school of fish like zebra danios or neon tetras would do well.

I probably wouldn't suggest goldfish, unless you got the mini 1-inch ones. But be careful, they grow!

But remember, tropical fish do best with a heater. So consider this before getting any tropical fish or buy a heater. They are too expensive, mine was $13.44 from Wal-Mart. (Just don't buy your fish at Wal-Mart, go to a petstore for that)

Hope I was of help! ♥

Your only choice would be 1 male betta, 3 female bettas and 1 mystery snail. Other types of fish would require a school of 6 or more that require a 10-gallon tank.

For a five gallong I would go for a betta and a school of 5 tettras. I have glowlights and neons and they both get along like peas in a pod with my betta. Also you may wanna add a couple small catfish - that may be pushing it a bit but if you keep up with your waterchanges and dont over feed you may be ok there.

you could put as follows
1 male betta
4 zebra danios or 4 neons
shrimp
and a live plant

Hope that helps
Good luck

all kinds of little fish like: scissor tails, spotted mollies, smaller gold fish, and others. or if you want fish that are alittle bit bigger you could get something like oscars not large oscars cause they can get pretty big. Or mabey even some cray fish. careful what you put with them though. I'd say do some research on it.
good luck
