Nobody. There's simply to much bulls-t and baggage associated with criminals to bring them into a team environment and expect them to contribute to a successful organization. Then why would a NHL team go out and get a high salary player, who ended up playing on the 4th line last year, despite having the opportunity to play on the top line with the league's best scoring combo. Yes, they were probably pushed into the acquisition if they wanted the other part of the deal, but still everybody with half a brain cell can see how much they overpaid in future assets for a goalie who still needs to prove himself as a NHL starter and basically a big, fat high priced distraction. Because of stupid management, this organization will not win the Cup in the near future, and they should build towards a younger team that might have a chance to win 5 years from now. Well, we all know that's not happening. At least they have idiot fans who shell out money at all costs to watch crap. Why even try to win?

insp., I understand the Raiders and their fans like the badass image, but dog-fighting/shooting/starving/ drowning/ electrocuting is more sickening than badass.

I think the Raiders next big QB is Jamarcus Russel, even though he isn't signed yet. Vick will play next year at the EARLIEST and Russel should be the starter by then.

Like I'm Telling You- Toskala has looked good the last 2 years, no doubt, but you simply don't know how he will react if he has to play 60-65 games in one year. Bob Essensa, Michael Tellqvist, David Aebisher are all examples of goalies who looked good with limited playing time, but not so well with an increased work load. You simply don't know which goalies are capable of handling a starting NHL job until they are asked to do so.

Also, Mark Bell DID play on Thornton and Cheechoo's line to start the season last year. He was completely unproductive so he was downgraded to the 2nd , and ultimately the fourth line.

With guys with talent, someone will ALWAYS take them, baggage or not. While not a criminal (that we are aware), T.O had baggage but Dallas picked him up. There are certain owners who will go against the grain at any cost, however with the new conduct policy, it would be somewhat less likely.

Like I'm Telling You- Toskala did not prove himself as a starting goalie, Nabokov won that distinction in SJ, they platooned alot but Nobokov won the battle. IMO, Nabokov is not that good but in SJ's opinion, he is better than Toskala so what does that tell you? This isn't a repeat of the Kiprusoff deal to be sure. Toskala isn't much better than Raycroft, I don't think. Especially with that team in front of them.
Also, Bell WAS slated for the Thornton/Cheechoo line for the start of the season and actually opened the first few games there. I can remember laughing when people in my fantasy pools drafted him.

First of all, Toskala has played 75 games the last two years, and has more than proved himself to be starting goaltender.

Mark Bell had no chance at spending last year on San Jose's top two lines (Thornton, Marleau, Cheechoo and Michalek all ahead of him on the depth chart), and at $2MM a year, he makes less than the league average.

This was a very good deal for Toronto, and most hockey pundits thought that the missing piece was Peca. Now that peca has all but signed in NY, the Leafs still need a PK specialist.

Bob
I wouldn't say that Nabokov won the battle, Florida came very close to landing Nabokov before getting Vokoun. Both goalies were shopped around Columbus like it was Thanksgiving. San Jose was adamant on a first round pick and that scared Boston away

My take on the Sharks/Leafs trade was the Sharks wanted to off-load Bell, Ferguson's softer than a pillow and gave in (or really wanted to keep his job) and ended up taking him along with Toskala. Wade Belak will probably get more time than Bell. At least Belak's an economy player in the sense that he can play wing, defense, and be a fighter.

Well, that's an interesting way to bring Bell up.

Well, the Falcons will realize that they really don't need Vick. The Titans will keep fighting with Pacman, who'll still want to fight in TNA. As for Bell, I have no idea who he is but I hope that the Leafs finally do something close to looking like winning another Cup.

Actually two NFL teams would probably pick them two up if given a chance and that is the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders. Who else would pick up Terrell Owens and other players who nobody else would put up with. I know you wanted to talk hockey but your actual question was about Vick and Jones.

Yeah the Bengals would trade for these GANGSTA GHETTO WANNA BE'S. They are used to having overpriced hood thugs that get into trouble i.e Chris Henry,Odell Thurman etc... They would trade for a 40 ounce beer, bag of weed, revolver, and Biggie CD for these jerks! Oh Yeah, the Leafs are truly a Joke!

Trade Vick for Jones, straight up. One headache for another.
I'd like to see Jones be a Raider, though. They are missing alot of that bad-*** mystique they used to have, and he might be able to help get that back. . . .
