Earthquakes happen everyday. The Earth's plates constantly move and often during these movements cause tension, hence the earthquakes. Seismologists are constantly kept busy trying to detect and earthquake early, but unfortunatly earthquakes still remain unpredictable. unlike volcanoes, they are a little bit more predictable.
You think a lot of earthquakes are happening, look at all of the Volcanoes that are erupting. well I think you may find this site interesting. it shows you all the earthquakes detected throughout the world.
