I have had so many good old days.
As a child being evacuated during the war and living in the country at harvest time. Long hot summers and not really knowing what a war was. Remember after the war when sweets came off the ration and seeing Children's Television on a rich neighbours b/w TV.
Remember teenage years (probably the best) and the first time I kissed a girl. Going to dances and the pictures on Sunday afternoon. And starting work on £2 a week for 48 hours in a factory.
A bit older and the start of rock and roll, Bill Hayley and Elvis and then the super sixties, Beatles, Stones and so many more.
Remember the first time I was really in love and the pain and heartache that went with it when I lost her.
Remember getting married and the thrill of buying our first house and the birth of three daughters
And now I am getting old the joy of my first grandchild.
So many golden days and all of them qualify as 'the good old days' when you are surrounded by those you love and they love you.

Since I was born in 1969 the "good old days" consisted of Glam Rock, which I assure u was not recommended. However, I was brought up in a house WITHOUT central heating,I did wear PARKERS, I remember SNOW, I kissed girls and that was ALL and there was only 3 channels on the telly. I hope this historical tour has been of some academic help.HA! HA!

Being told I could play out until it started getting dark and playing out all day in the holidays, without having a mobile to report in on !
Bex, when I first saw your Q, I thought it was referring to the programme that was from the music hall days where all the audience got dressed up and had a sing song. Do you remember that lol ?

Late 70's early 80's.
Playing out til dark without my parents having to worry.
Front door never locked, but that's because we didn't have anything worth stealing. :-)
Going to my grandmas on a Saturday morning, Grandad used to make us watch the wrestling with Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy (think that was his name).
Grandma always cooked butterfly cakes and always, always tried to get my mum to allow me to have a gin and tonic at the age of 8!
12yrd old+ being out all weekend with my horse, don't think mum saw much of me between ages of 12 and 16!
16yrs old discovered boys and then the worries started!
*sigh*
Wish I had a time machine.

Friends, good TV shows, no bills, and not near as many worries. And the media left you trying to figure things out, not telling you every disgusting, ugly, gruesome, none of your business thing they can.
