The places I wish I'd seen, the things I wish I'd done, the people I wish I'd met. I have a good life and have done a fair bit of traveling, but not as much as I wish. So it goes, I guess. We make our choices -- I love my family and my life, but.... what are the "might have beens"? I know I'll never know. How are we able to make these choices with such a short time with which to work?

I, like you, have times where I dwell on what might have been. You know what? It doesn't do any good at all. I've found it's better to keep looking forward towards new goals than dwell on past regrets. Are you still in reasonably good health? You can still plan to go see other places, and you'd be suprised at the amazing deals you can find if you look hard enough. Be confident about your FUTURE, and you can make a sucess out of it.

I was telling my woman about an hour ago, I wish I had started building boats when I was younger, had the plans and never did. But, soon I will start a small wherry ketch sailboat. I may do something fast and easy first to prime me for the better boat. But, what this is saying, we always can do what we did not. Though it later in life, we still have a life ahead of us. Just do some short trips close. I know there much to see. We used to take a three day weekend, see how far we could go in a day to see something and drive. Stay one night in a Hotel, see a few things the next day and come home and have one day to rest up. Also, you can drive one day, spend the night, next day sight see that area, spend another night and drive home the 3rd day. And just go to work tired. But, you can do it. Get a few vacation planning kits from your State and others around you, take a Road Atlas and see what's out there.

hey there, ild like to tell you that travel isnt all its cracked up to be, but thats a load of crap. I hadnt been on a plane till i was 23, my girlfriend and i flew to london then caught the ferry to france where we bought mountain bikes and rode and camped across france about 1800 k's, went to pamplona then barcelona then a boat to italy and rome, then a train to germany to octoberfest, then rode back to france through holland and belgium, we both worked in the U.K for 3 months at a pub, then at racehorse stables in the country. We also did a side trip to the states for 3 weeks, all up we were away for 10 months. Im 32 now and have just married that girl in Vegas, out the top of a limo at the little white chappel, we then honeymooned in New York in the snow then san fransisco and L.A. Hopefully you reading this will inspire you to throw caution to the wind, get someone to look after the kids and go....go go go.

You can still do that with your family! People travel with their children all the time. It is more fun with a group anyway.
