No not really. Everything is always in your subconscious. Well, if you don't mind becoming a vegetable, then you can forget things hehe (joke).

actually there is a drug that is in testing at harvard that simulates the effect of deleting memories. it doesn't get rid of the memory, but it does make it easier for the person to remember it, altering the memory, essentially or at least the effect it had on a person upon recall.

i forget the specifics, but from what i can recall it targets an area in the brain where the memory is active and either inhibits the chemicals that are released when the memory is actively recalled or damages a part of the brain. i can't remember :p

here is an article about it:

yahoo had it on their main page, but in the fine print version...

Why does this ensue? it must be the placement (replaced into it a vehicle twist of fate, sexual molestation, animal attack) or the particular individual (everyones techniques is diverse). nonetheless this could be difficult to hearken to or have faith, the cost of forgetting for sexual trauma is comparable to for different nerve-racking activities (e.g., an motor vehicle twist of fate or animal attack). because of this, the yank psychological association has reported some conclusions approximately repressed sexual techniques: • maximum people who have been sexually abused as little ones remember all or area of what occurred •–yet some forget approximately •–There are situations of recovered techniques that have been examined by potential of alternative kinds of knowledge •–yet such situations are fairly uncommon i'm so sorry that this has occurred to you. you incredibly need to work out and refer to somebody approximately what occurred. besides, therapy could have the potential to help with some issues you're dealing with now.

no, there is no way to "delete" memories. trust me, if there were, i'd tell you along with a few of my clients that have some of the most horrific memories one can imagine.

what CAN be done, it to learn to cope & move past those memories. with hard work.
