i have an AMDsempron 3000+ 2.0GHz and a EVGA FX5500. If I upgrade my video card to an EVGA 7800GS AGP. Will it make a difference? pls explain.

YES, big difference in games. The 7800GS has a more robust GPU architecture than the FX5500. 7800GS has 16/6 pixel/vertex shaders. FX 5500 only has 4/2 shaders. 7800GS has 105mhz higher core clock, triple the memory speed and more than 6x the memory bandwidth of the 5500. 7800GS will just clobber FX5500 to bits.

7800GS will be somewhat bottlenecked by your processor. But that Sempron is a good overclocker. 400-500mhz overclock at stock voltage is easy. Boost it to 2.2-2.3Ghz and you will be amazed by that 7800GS. You may gain 15-20% higher score in 3D Mark 05.

BEFORE U DO THIS.... make sure that this new card can fix in your mother board. Yes there is a few things better in the EVGA 7800GS AGP. One is 128 bit vs 256 color. And it has a high Resolution & Refresh rate. The EVGA 7800GS AGP is a Excellent card all around.

first of all, you have to check to see if your computer is compatible with the video card. The upgrade will make a great difference. i recomend going for it.
