eric started out doing really well this season, but he has really messed up lately. Yeah America may tell him to do stupid things, but we aren't the ones putting the actual words into his mouth. We did not tell him to tattle on secrets that other houseguests have told him. He had no right telling ed what Amber told him in confidence. He is playing everyone and no one.

I like Eric. I don't understand why America is voting to make him do stupid stuff and stupid moves...America is messing his game up...Unless it's rigged and BB tells him to do anything just to keep ratings

Doc Rocket takes on America's Player

We have a lot of really terrific bloggers & commenters here at bb8dish, and this morning, one of them left an extremely well thought out assessment piece on Eric. I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to see it, so I've moved it from the comments section to the main page.

From my end, I think Eric is an excellent player, as he proved last week after Amber's tirade and his miracle recovery. He does, however, fall far short of actually being "America's Player."

Below is what Doc Rocket had to say. As always, your comments are welcome.

My take on Eric and the new situation the Donatos are in:

Background: Let’s do a quick re-cap of the events that lead up to his troubles. Eric campaigned heavily for Nick’s eviction (before getting America’s instructions), and proceeded by not pushing Kail’s eviction (as per America), was trapped in a “hinky vote” that he had to deny and pushed suspicion off on Dick (who felt tightly aligned with Eric up until that point) and Dani. Don’t forget, Dick had Eric’s back and tried to pull him into the early stages of the LNC. Eric messed himself up and he made it worse when he told all of America that he was disappointed because we didn’t listen to his strategy! We are supposed to have the vote here Eric…not you, that is why you are OUR player! In addition, you would be pulling in the cash if you were completing our tasks!!!!!!!! A good AP would have waited for our word, pushed for Kail, voted her out, never been suspected, stayed aligned with Dick & the LNC and would be in a much better position today!

Moving forward: Eric is still whining to America about our choices…apparently he doesn’t get it. A good AP would have the thought (if only once) “Hmmm, I know America sees the DR and has a lot more info than I do, perhaps there is something to their MO…” But alas, he is all about his own individual game when in fact he hasn’t any since we control his vote.

I understand it is a tricky situation to be in but if he were sharp, he’d make it out of this just fine (with extra cash to boot don’t forget!).

Current Jam: Eric has an easy way out of his current jam, and if he had his head in OUR game he’d be onto it. Right now there is no guaranteeing Dustin’s safety. He already knows that America is after Dustin (by our request for his nomination) so he can safely assume that the vote will be the same. It would be clever of him to go to Dick and say this “Dick, I plan on voting to evict Dustin. I am not telling anyone as I do not want him manipulating the house and trashing me for the next few days. I am not in good standing with the house over recent accusations and I need to work my way back in. I am telling you in confidence that you have my vote to stay however; if you tell anyone (including Danielle) I will withdraw and vote you out. In return I would like immunity for one week, no nomination, no pawn if your side wins HOH. You cannot use my vote to campaign with, just discreetly know that you have it…you will have to win your other votes in whatever way you can. Remember, so much as one mention of this and whole deal is off.” This does two things; covers his tracks if Dick is evicted (because no-one will know he promised his vote) and aligns him with the greater numbers in the house if Dick stays. It may also get him through another week of not being nominated. He would most likely lose any good ties with Amber and Jameka, but I feel strongly that he would be able to gain Jess’ trust back…especially since Dick, Dani & Zach (which would be his new alliance) all like her and would nominate Amber and Jameka before her any day! This is his best course of action in my opinion.

Prediction: Eric is so stubborn and haughty that he will insist on playing his game instead of ours and will push for Dick’s eviction and we will have him vote out Dustin…and either one of two things will happen:

Dick will be evicted and the “hinky” vote will be hanging in the wind once again…Eric will blame Zack or Jen (like a weasel). America will continue to grow weary of Eric’s blatant disregard for our say in the game and start making him a target.
Dustin will be evicted and neither side will trust him as he campaigned so heavily for Dick to leave and (obviously) voted for him to stay. At which time he will follow his usual plan of denying his vote etc. and pointing the finger at any other HG he can think of…but something tells me it won’t work this time! Eric will be up the creak without a paddle.

So you see folks, in my opinion Eric’s only choice is to start actually playing the America’s Choice role and ditch his own personal game. He will have to be cleaver and cover his bases, but if he pays attention to our hints (not the other way around) he can set himself up just right and avoid all of the trouble he has gotten himself into up until now.

Everyone says Eric has incredible game. I have only seen sloppy mistakes followed by even sloppier ones… He is redeeming himself in my book, by doing his task and paying attention to our “choice”…I only hope he picks up his game a bit to match.
