There are several nice places to visit in Missouri. In St. Louis of course they have the Arch, if you have never been up in it; it really is a cool experience. Also in STL they have the City Museum which is not like any other, it is a giant playground for kids of all ages! They have caves, slides, a whole outdoor steel structure with planes and cars you can climb in. That place is way cool! There is also Forest Park which has a FREE zoo (one of the best around), science center and art museum. There is also the history museum which is always having different displays. You can row boats in the lakes in the park just like they did at the World’s Fair. There is also the Hill which has the best Italian food around! There is Soulard which has Mardi Gras each year, they also have a great farmer’s market and wonderful bars, restaurants and clubs. There of course is the STL Cardinals, Blues and Rams. Union Station is a great piece of history, there is also a air museum that offers free Bi-Plane rides. Outside of STL there is 6 Flags which is always good family fun. Lone Elk state park has elk, buffalo and other animals that run free. There really is a ton of stuff to do there! If you like the Casino thing STL has several of them, all of them are really nice.

There is also Branson, they have shows, theme parks and more! It is like a mini Vegas. This whole area is beautiful. They have great shopping and some amazing restaurants. Located in the south of Missouri it really has become one of our gems. Near Branson is Springfield Missouri, a wonderful “small” town. Parts of Route 66 run through here and they strive hard to keep that history alive. They also have a great zoo, nice shopping, and the Springfield Cardinals which are a minor league team. It really is fun to see them play. There is also Fantastic Caverns which is a cave that you get to ride through in Jeeps, never seen anything like it! Missouri is the “Cave” State we have tons of them here! Some you can even scuba dive in. If you come here try to see at least one of the caves we have to offer. Worlds of Wonder at Bass Pro is very neat, hands on and they have some great local wildlife on display.

Kansas City also has a ton of stuff to do! They have a zoo, science center and a wonderful downtown! A must in KC is the great BBQ that they have there, known around the world for its flavor. You can find several local places with the best Q! There is also the Casino if you like that. There is also Worlds of Wonder, and they have a couple water parks. Great Wolf lodge is always a great place to stay here, they have an indoor water park right in the hotel! The 1950’s Electric house was the house of the future back in the day, now it feels like stepping back in time. Still it is very cool to see and very unique. There is also the Airline Museum, the old log cabin jail, catch the KC Railroad Company for a short train ride, there are several battlefields in KC from the Civil War, the children’s peace museum I could go on and on! There is a lot to do here for all ages. If you want clubs, and bars they have that too! Westport is a great entertainment center. www.visitkc.com
See Hannibal MO, this was the home to Mark Twain. You can walk in his foot steps and see many places described in his book. There is also Mark Twain Lake which is great for boating and swimming. The town of Hannibal feels like you just stepped back in time. It is truly a beautiful river town. Depending on what time of year you go you can also see the Bald Eagles. They come up for the winter to nest near the river. There are also great shops and Tom Sawyer days are always a lot of fun. You can take a paddle boat tour of the river, not too many of those left.

Independence MO is also another great town. Walk in the foot steps of Harry Truman the only President from Missouri. For something different check out the Hair Museum it is one of a kind and very interesting, a little weird but cool! There is also Oasis Water park which is a lot of fun for kids all ages. Check out the Puppet Institute they make old school marionettes here. Very interesting to see the artist at work. The National Frontier Museum is also very neat, preserving the history of those who dared to travel west. The Sante Fe Trail runs through Independence and there are several parks that you can go to and walk the trail. There are also several educational centers around to learn more. There are tons of Civil War markers here and many sites to see!

There are so many other places I could list, we have some great parks such as Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut Ins, and Table Rock Lake. There is also the Lake of the Ozarks which has so much to offer and the beauty here cannot be beat! Other places like Joplin, Carthage and Columbia have so much history and several museums. You really should check out this website for more information:
