Well my computer seems to run fine when I open big programs like photoshop and wmp together but for some reason when I play a mmorpg like Ragnarok Online it overheats within 30 minutes usually 15. I've checked the fans and checked if there was dust inside of my computer but I cleaned it months ago because the dust was causing it to overheat last time and it was working fine until about last month when this overheating problem started up again. My friend and I guessed that I needed a new computer fan. So is that right?

More powerful fans could improve ventilation and reduce temps. Also consider upgrading the cpu cooler. And move your PC away from cramped corners or spaces w/ poor air circulation.

Some computer supply websites will sell things like fans that can be installed in a bay where normally an optical drive would go (to bring in more air) or that can be installed in an empty PCI slot.

The link is the general cooling section, but try visiting

It seems reasonable that other sites offer similar products, so it probably wouldn't hurt to visit Newegg, Office Depot, Staples, Best Buy, and other websites while you're at it.

Good luck.

wether it is a lap top, or desk top unit, all passages must be kept clear of dust dirt and objects that impede the air flow.

If it is a lap top, purchase a small fan to blow on the back side of it. make shure there is enough room underneath, for good air flow. same for the main frame type.

It is possable that a component it's self is starting to go bad, forcing the other parts to work harder than normal

Same with my gateway. I need to buy a cooling pad that I saw at BestBuy and Staples from $15-$20. Good luck.

Probably yes.

But first, try looking under the heatsink on top of it the CPU, if there like a gray rust-like material on it then you need some new cooling gel.

Of course, replacing the whole cooling system could be simpler.
