Of course; I was confident of my ability to size people up by the age of 15. I don't see how you could function socially without the ability,or being handicapped by a morbid conviction that anyone you don't already know is presumably evil. How would you make new friends,or handle yourself in a bar? Besides,it's irrational: if anyone you don't already know is to be presumed a potential hazard, you're talking 9999999999999999.999 % of the human race - almost all of it. 6 billion baddies. Anyway, most people who are harmed by others - including murder victims - knew their assailant. It is far,far more common to be attacked and/or killed by someone you know than by a stranger.

Yes, in fact a few times sales clerks have thought that I was with someone because we were chatting up a storm....but I'd never meet them. I think shopping can be a bonding experience with womenâº

I usually only talk to strangers when I am working.
But if people look like they like it when I talk to them I will be more likely to talk to them.
