Walking ruined my feet four miles a day. Now it's walk as little as possible. Who would have thought. Running hurts the knees. I say dance, dance, dance. There are too many other ways than throwing a few hundered pounds around, like the gym. Mix it up. The Y has both. Maybe jogging a mile. I don't know what their thinking recommending walking and running. It's a whole different thing if your hiking. Something about relaxing and attitude. Do you think know the actual results of the images they portray? It's so stylized, it's not cosmetics.

Walk, I love excersicing but I HATE running, besides i feel that the impact will 'cause my "things" to fall down a bit...gravity can be cruel on women :-D, so I'd rather keep things in the right place and walk. I don't mind walking a lot..

I like to walk because the constant pounding on my knees and ankles has causing them to much stress. I get a more beneficial exercise from a fast pace walk than a run.

It really depends on the situation. If you want a vigirous exercise you could run, or walk for a longer distance. Running is harder on you, as your feet absorb more shock when they make contact with the pavment in the faster and harder motion that running provides.
If you are planning on exercising, I would advise that you start walking, then step up to jogging, then run a small distance, nothing to strenuous, then if it seems that you have handled it you can begin running daily, or as you like.

Once I saw lots of people running with numbers on shirt,
running past me to go somewhere in hurry, why, I thought
there were danger ahead of me so I asked one runner,
Are you running from danger, up ahead of me that I should be aware of? Ha Ha, A joke, If you want to run, find a track with rubber, to lesson the impact on your knees, If you walk, put 5 pounds of ankle weight, and walk, this is just good as running. you will get good work out.

i'd say run. mainly because walking is so boring and ugh, while running gets your heart pumped and everything. i enjoy running anyways so its really nothing new, but ive always had a thing for something that gets the adrenaline rushing. its also good for when you need motivation or whatnot. like if i was going through a tough time, i dont know why, but running is like my therapy. so ill go for a run, and ill feel so much better when im done. in a way, it feels like i can get away from my troubles, if only for a bit. its pretty weird, but when your feeling down, its a good thing to try. =]

I like to walk because with running I would lose my energy real quick. I like to collect spiders and insects also so if I were to run I wouldn't notice them as much.
