I believe that the good far outweigh the bad, however the bad often seem to have a greater impact on others than do the good. I think that the main reason for this is that the good more often than not tend to remain in the background unseen, whereas the bad are upfront and get right in the faces of others. Also, the media doesn't help matters any as it generally focuses on the bad, which only spurs them on to a greater degree than if they weren't receiving so much attention. In short, I guess you could say that the good are often more passive in nature while the bad are just the opposite in that they seem to be far more aggresive than the good. This can make a huge difference in the outcomes of matters both significant and insignificant in our daily lives.

Interesting question. Its a personal experience thing, if you experience more bad people you will subcontiously do what surveyers call a "sample" and use that to interprate the world.

The flaw in that is if you by any chance work or live in a place where you are exposed to some bad people, you can take that as the gospel on the worlds people. This can leave you quiet cynical when it comes to people, even good people and have you miss out on some things.

I think that the bad people's contributions to the world outweigh the good sometimes, because it is easier to be bad than to be good! but there are enough good people in this world... they just have to go out there and do it!

I think there are more good people. I think it just seems like there are more bad people because they get all the press!

Really when was the last time the news started off with a story about doing something nice. And have they ever done an entire hour?

Pick up the book "Freakonomics" by genius economist Stephen Levitt. I would never, ever read an economics book, but this one is both accessible and fun to read. Seriously, it's an amazing book for someone who would be bored by economics.

In the book he uses economic studies to give a pretty solid answer to your question. For the most part, given an anonymous chance to do the right or wrong thing most people will take the high road.

No contest. There are way more good people in the world. The reason we notice bad people is they're the exception to the rule. If bad people were in the majority, no one would ever notice.

In my opinion I think it all balances out. But it also depends on your perception of things. Some people may be negative and tend to choose to see all the bad things in the world therefore they would say there is more bad and vice versa with positive thinkers.
