i believe they want to wreck it because what happens before is that they auction it off to the highest bidder but it turns out the highest bidders are also the smugglers. another thing is that helping the poor and stuff like that is a very good idea however i don't think the money will reach those intentions... because of corruption the money will be long gone before it reaches the poor. a lot of people would have taken a piece of it sad to say so i believe it would be better to destroy it so that nobody would take advantage of it. nobody would benefit from it instead of some greedy people getting richer.

I never saw any charity feeding people in philippines. I saw plenty of people begging for something so they can eat. Where is this charity you speak of? When you say "take the money and feed the poor" which poor people will that be? Who will administer the money or the food to make it equal distribution? Why does a luxury car have to be "smuggled" in to philippines anyway? Someone paid the wrong politician?

Yes I am. Anything obtained illegally is dirty, and should not be utilized by anyone. It would probably have been nice to have given the proceeds of sales to charity, but we are never really sure if the money *will* go to charity, so I guess it would be better to just destroy the cars.
I wish I could have at least touched one, though. :D

I agree.
There has to be a strong signal that this will not go on. In auctions, the people involved in smuggling (importer, customs person etc) will find ways to manipulate the bids and end up still benefiting from the criminal act.

anything that is illegal including the "res" should be destroyed to avoid anyone to benefit. it is like raiding an illegal drug lab operated by the chinese. while some chemicals may have some use for industrial purposes, it must be destroyed altogether so that it will not go to another evil hands. what benefit will it give if they sell it to another smuggler pretending to be an interested bidder in connivance with another customs officer.
evil ways will not stop.

this is the way GMA wanted to convey her message that she mean business to all the smugglers ..................................and tonying was right why not destroy the smugglers and the crook customs employee instead of the vehicle if she really wanted to eliminate them.Mrs.President auction them to public so we can generate more funds to help our poor countrymen.governance is not only for good looks but for good results.anyway ,sinta she wont listen to any of our advices....sayang laway natin jan.gooday!
