He was brought in a muslim upbringing, but he is a devout christian and belongs to the UCC.

And what is wrong with muslims, the ones terrorizing the world are only a very small percentage of muslim followers.

people say he is a muslim simply because they are attacking him, but i thought that no religious test should be put forth to a person in order for him/her to hold office.

I read that he isn't and that he goes to a Christian church. But he traveled around when he was growing up and spent a couple of years in a Muslim private school...so I really don't know. Although I have to give him that he has not ran from his past, and I personally don't care about his past.

The reason why I don't like him (keep in mind I started out hoping that he would do well) is the fact that his position on illegal aliens disturbs me and the fact that he is part of the Council of Foreign Relations who are part of the people who are pushing for the North American Union.

I don't know but I do know that someone's religious beliefs do not guarantee they will be a great leader. Look at the Catholic church. I grew up catholic and all that religion has done is put itself first not it's people. If it did it wouldn't have passed around pedifiles to the different churches. Look at Barak as a whole, include his religious beliefs along with his others. How does he feel about Pro Choice? What's his stand on Immigration? Does he think we spend too much money on war?

NO, he's no longer a Muslim. I trust Andrew G, this question is a no-brainer. Why? because of fact: a million. there is two spelling errors: "barak" and "URS" is think to be "Barack" and "URL" respectively. 2. this question has been asked lower back and lower back by ability of fools who does not understand a thank you to apply the browser top to locate advice. 3. your link has in basic terms replied your question. In Wiki, it for sure says that Obama is a Protestant Christian. Why did you ask the question while the respond is already there?

He is not Muslim. He follows Christianity.

Nope, still a Christian. He's a member of a Christian Church - it's one of those sweetness-and-light, hyperinclusive, leftwing churches, but it's still nominally Christian.

No he is not.
"It was because of these newfound understandings—that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved—that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized."

No, he is not. This is an "urban legend," or more implied fear tactics from the KKKarl Rove School of Public Relations.
