No your not. Just so you don't get embarrassed and people may say oh your a baby you don't know how to swim. That is not true at all but people are just mean these days. I'd go to the YMCA and take private swim lessons. That's what I did when I was 14. I am now 17 also. Let me tell you this you don't know how to swim and I don't know how to ride a bike so your not the only one. Nothing is ever to late but it's gets harder the older you wait.
Hope that helps.

No, it's not too late and you really need to learn. My sister who is now 30 never learned to swim. She was always too afraid of the water and my parents never pushed it. Now she has four kids and can't leave the shallow end if they go swimming. There are so many great things that she'll never be able to do because she can't swim (i.e. snorkeling, deep sea diving, etc.). It's just one of those things that you need to know how to do! As for places, I don't live in NY, but usually local gyms or YMCA's (if they have a pool) have adult classes. Sometimes they offer private classes to adults who never learned to swim. You just need to start making some phone calls! Good luck to you.

Nope. Never too late. If there's YMCA or YWCA near you with a pool, they usually have a water safety and basic swim class for free. (If not, try the Red Cross and the Parks and Rec Department.) They also have beginning lessons for adults, (so you're not out there with a bunch of six-year-olds) and much better rates than, say, a health club.

It's never too late to learn how to swim. Who knows when it
might save your life, or someone elses?
I don't live in NY, I live in the NW state of Washington. But
I'd recommend you try the WMCA/WYCA. They teach swimming lessons. You might ask the Red Cross about
swimming schools also.
I took swimming lessons from the Y, in highschool. And
also in the Army. I believe their instructors were from the
Red Cross. And they were great.

Of course not; it's never too late to learn something new. I'm not from NYC but I'd guess your local YMCA and/or fitness club/gym would offer lessons.
Most community colleges/junior colleges offer classes too.

It's never too late to learn how to swim,
I live in California, so I have no idea,
where you could learn, but it's very
easy, even for an adult. My next door
neighbor said it was more difficult for
adults/teens to learn if they were afraid,
but don't be, really it's never ever too late.

Never too late, but it will be a bit harder. You should do fine, though, if you open your mind to learning and if you really concentrate and pracitce. I'm not familiar with NYC, but I suggest you inquire with the city's Dept Or Rec, or at least see if they have one. You might try the YMCA, too.

I learned how to swim at 17. It was mandatory in order for me to graduate from high school. Try going to the YMCA. Now swimming is one of my favorite activities.
