this seems to be Republican foriegn policy at work?

I asked "why is pakistan an ally?"... no. 1 reason... because they have the bomb... is that a good reason? espeically since most experts think Osama is there?

I've also noticed that we've talked with N. Korea and made deals with them under Bush when they got the bomb?

and hardly a peep about China and everything they do...

is this why Iran wants it so bad? it seems if you have the bomb... you can host Osama in your nation and the U.S. won't bother you?

here's the question:

Difference here. N. Korea, was willing to work with us. Nutjob in Iran who doesn't believe in the holocaust and has made numerous threats against the USA, Israel, and basically anyone who isn't a radical Islamic state is a bit different.

Okay, look at it this way. There's two guys with a gun, both are nuts. One shoots his gun into the air but afterwards is willing to talk and lay down his gun if you promise not to hurt him, while the other guy who hasn't fired his gun yet but is waving and flailing his gun around threatening to kill everybody. Who would you negotiate with, and who would you call the SWAT team on?

Pakistan is an ally because we really need them to help us with Osama, which They haven't been doing anyway, and the Bush administration has failed to put more pressure on them.

We don't fear N.Korea because of the small nuclear bomb might have (they aren't stupid enough to use it), we fear them because the have what is probably the 5th best Army in the world and could roll through S.Korea like a bowling ball.

China is to powerful to do much to.

And Iran wants it so bad so it can be considered one of the world's elite country's. And they hate Israel, and they have the bomb.

US makes alliances with those that help their positions when needed just like EVERY OTHER NATION ON THIS PLANET. I am soooo sick of people whining about US foreign policy. US doesnt do anything differently in their foreing policy that every other nation does yet for some reason we are suppose to play by different rules. I guess the US should only do what is in the best interests of other countries and give up her power to make people like you happy.

Why is it that libs dont cry foul over things China, Pakistan, N Korea and Pakistan yet sure do like to call a country like the US evil and corrupt.

Hmmmmmmm should we handle countries differently that have a very very destructive weapon vs those that dont. What kind of ignorant person wouldnt handle countries with nukes a little differently then say a country in the middle of africa that holds no real threat or assistance to the US.

Pakistan is not an ally of the USA. The USA is an ally of Pakistan. This has been the case since the 1950's, well before they got The Bomb.

Israel is not an ally of the USA. The USA is a dependency of Israel. That has been the case since the Jewish lobby took over the US government.

Nuclear weapons are not that big of a threat, but countries with hydrogen bombs and ICBMs, we will not mess with.

ie russia, china, UK, and france ( along with the US, make up the UN security council permanent members)

a war between the US and any one of these nations would destroy life on earth.

Pakistan has a hostile population, but a pro-western government, so we are not going to upset this delicate balance. If pakistan turned into a hostile government and hostile population, those little nukes may pose a threat.

"I asked "why is pakistan an ally?"... no. 1 reason... because they have the bomb... is that a good reason?"

Nope, definitely not a good answer - it's a wrong answer and indicative of the amazing lack of critical thinking skills on this "forum". In a perfect world, folks who are on that low road wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a voting booth, much less be permitted to procreate or engage in any of the other activities that should be reserved for adults.

Alas, we live in a culture of mental midgets...

Gees, I wonder where the other countries on this Planet [which the United States thinks it owns] got `the bomb'. Or the knowledge to build one ? Who dropped the first one ? Oh, we did.
If you review our History, it will show you that before the US dropped the bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima that Japan would have surrendered within day's anyway and it wasn't really necessary that we started this WMD War and now we don't want anyone else to have them except us because now we are scared of them.

Whatever. Iran is going to take over Iraq, and we need to get out before we lose all the military we have over there fighting to die for nothing that will benefit our country. We need our military on the Mexican Borders far more important than where they are now.

Before you describe it as Republican foreign policy you should maybe do some research into the whole Cuban Missile Crisis thing.. you sound like another Bush bashing liberal.

With the Bush White House making noises about attacking Iran, I don't think that the rule of "American doesn't attack countries with the atomic bomb" will hold much weight any more.
