Why do either...if it stresses you out...does one really need to know why people do the things they do...unless you are a psychiatrist/ologist...or these are people that you simply must keep in your life there is really no need to sympathize or empathize...you just know enough to stay away...++

Sometimes in looking for what motivates other people we find what motivates us, and sometimes we find that we wish we never knew, but then it is too late to forget. Sometimes we find something deep down in ourselves that is scratching at the surface wanting out, and all we need to realize it is there and it becomes our reality. The question is are we strong enought to face it and then fight it. That doesnt guarantee a victory all the same. I suppose it is better in that case to turn our heads and live in the naievity that evil doesnt exist, but just because we do or dont doesnt prevent it from being real and still happening.

Depends on how you can think. It seems your the type who couldnt stay objective while thinking that way, so for you its probally best to stray away from that.
Generally speaking you will never understand these people because we as a people tend to assume alot of things when switching minds, such as how they grew up etc. You just cant understand at all.

We all have to live in this world together whether we like it or not, so if we can at least try to understand where people are coming from we become part of the solution instead of being part of the problem.
The first step is accepting that none of us are immune; all human beings are capable of extremes, good and bad.
People are fascinating!

Alot of people that do things to intentionally hurt others because their life and so messed up or their mind is so twisted that need need some mental help,so in alot of ways i feel sorry for people, but i keep my distance and i try not to waste time worrying about them.
Overall i dont think its worth trying to understand it,and something like that could possibly drive you crazy.

I don't think it is at all possible to see exactly where they are coming from, or to feel the hurt they felt that may have caused them to do the things they did. of course, nothing that happened to them could excuse their actions, but I think the only thing you can really do is try to overlook their faults to try to help them. I think that no matter how wrong the things a person does, they still deserve to be given help.

People are motivated by different things. Some people are motivated by hate and negativity while others are motivated by positive things. If you want to think about it there's nothing wrong with that but I don't think there's one answer that will apply to everyone.

I think it's best to think about it, as these folks are our greatest teachers of what not to become! If we forget, then perhaps we will become hardened and thoughtless as a result! Cherish the good, however, and remember all they do! Have a great week! Annie

its best not to think about it at all cuz your not gonna understand why they do the things they do unless you think like them...or maybe you can talk to these types of people and ask them their point of view.

No, I want to understand why people make certain decisions. If I'm paying attention, then it must be pertinent to me, so I want to know why.
