This Q n A's thing is also for people to have a laugh and a bit of banter, is it not? hey, maybe I'm wrong. but surely people that get offended easy about race or sex etc, should keep away from programs like this. I'm British but would never take offence at being called a 'Brit', so why do some dislike their nationalities abbreviated? its such a shame that some without an open mind can restrict others from having a laugh, without being so careful others aren't listening.

Ethnic, race and religion are sensitive issues. And making jokes out of these issues provoke anger, often taken as making fun of people. Maybe it is not a loss of sense of humour but instead these ethnic groups consider themselves as equals to other people and thinking why fun is being poked at them. I think that is the main reason why.

Program on TV recently where they asked what was acceptable and what not acceptable to make a joke out of. What I found offensive was a Black gay comedian who said it was OK to make jokes about fat people as this was a lifestyle choice for the fat people and they deserved it. Now as I am of the Fat persuasion and often tell jokes about being fat and the problems this causes. I now feel it's only fair that I can tell jokes about Black people or Gays. Funny thing is I don't want to because it would offend them. So according to this comedian he has rights not to be laughed at because of his colour or his sexuality but I am not afforded the same courtesy. Wish I could remember his name, it was Amos something or Amos was his last name, He is about as funny as a turd in a Swimming pool.

for specific basically an antogonistic question. Why is it continuously a case of "My area is great and loves this usa, the different area is corrupt and hates this usa"? Plug in whichever social accumulating you like. i be attentive to an incredible style of liberals and that they do now no longer burn any flags. some (now no longer all) could help the act of burning a flag as an expression of loose speech. i've got have been given by potential of no skill heard any of my liberal friends declare the U. S. flag is offensive, nor do they hate the U.S. I surely have a greater physically powerful useful question: mutually as will human beings grant up taking area in so problematical at social accumulating politics and fairly attempt to artwork for a greater physically powerful useful usa as a substitute of basically attempting practice the different area incorrect, evil, corrupt, hateful, etc...?

It's about testing the boundary of the individuals sensibilities.Knowing where that is and how far we can go holds the key to wether it's really funny or not.Overstep the mark and you're racist/bigotted or plain ignorant. It's a fine line.
Comedians who can succeed in their feild without 'going there' like Peter Kay are the real proffesionals.IMHO

Yes, sense of humour has gone out of the window, well and truly.
It makes me laugh that like you say, Irish, blonde etc are okay, but other types are too PC.
The world is going maaaaad.

Irish jokes are considered ethnic jokes, too. Anyway, people can be overly sensitive, especially regarding their ethnicity, race, etc. That's why, I think.

Pretty much. Everything you say will be taken as racist. And as for sense of humor, people have lost that a long time ago.
