Homework is a reinforcement of what you learned in class.
I do, however, agree that excessive amounts are a waste of time. Though you might want to practice spelling and proofreading a bit more.

No, I'm 22 and in college I also work and have a daughter. Writing papers and doing homework is a drag after sitting in 3hour lectures and knowing I still have a baby to care for and a house to keep. But. homework re enforces what you learned in class. You know when your passing notes are dosing off, trust me it pays off in the long run. Most people don't realize until they are paying for college degrees out of the pocket, school is important and that means hw too.

I dont think homework is a complete waste of time. If you have good teachers and they give out homework --some of it can actually be useful in everyday life. But if you have crappy teachers that pretend to be actively teaching by giving tons of homework, this isn't helpful at all. I think all teachers should give out a packet at the beginning of the school yr and we do work from it throughout as we please and submit at the end of the yr. What do you think?

I think TONS of homework is unfair, but sometimes I think it's necessary to learn the material if you're doing it on your own in a setting other than the classroom. Some teachers definitely take it overboard, but - like taxes - homework is a neccessary evil. Best thing to do is stop whining, do it quickly, and then go do what you want.
And like the other guy said, you don't HAVE to do it, but you might want to do your spelling homework.

actually homework prepares you for tests and quizzes and helps you REMEMBER what you have learned, because if you come home and go with friends and talk on the phone and you just learned something and you didn't get homework chances are you would of forgotten steps so homework is NOT a waste of time
OH YEA you OBVIOUSLY need to do your homework because you can't spell waste CORRECTLY, STOP COMPLAINING

Clearly not. If you did more homework you might have used the right waste instead of waist in your question. Hit the books your grammar needs help too.

I have a high school diploma, years of honorable military service and a college education. In all that time I put my education first to help better myself and put friends last. I have no friends outside of my wife and children. No one will still hire me for work. After countless resumes and cover letters, I still cannot get hired. I'm 38 now. I have literally wasted my life with education.
Go see your friends.

To some extent it is. If you literally have NO time at all for anything else, it has gone too far. However, it is necessary to get you to remember things and to give you good work ethic. But there is a line of reasonable amounts, and anything more than that is a waist of time. But anything under that is completley neccessary.

Are you planning to attend college? If so, the homework you do now will help prepare you for the demands of higher education. Furthermore, like others have said, you need help with spelling. So there you go. Also, you need to learn how to form a complete sentence with punctuation.
