I won't describe my first experience on a rollercoaster, but I will describe my last and final ride on one. I was 40 years old and I am a very, very, small person. I rode the coaster at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Nevada. It goes through the roof of the building before it plunges down it's steepest drop. Because I don't weigh a lot (96 lbs) I came up out of the seat somewhat because of the centrifiugal force or something and never mananged to get all the way back down in the seat. I was holding on for dear life. It scared me senseless. Prior to this, I was never afraid to ride rollercoasters and enjoyed them tremendously. But never again, I was sore for two days from slamming around inside of the seat.

Its hard to describe being so scared that I kept my eyes shut the whole time and was even too scared to scream. I ended up with bruises underneath one of my upper arms because I held on so tight to the back of the seat. I sort of hooked my arm around the back and held on for grim death! So I have to say my first (and only) experience on a rollercoaster was a never to be forgotten one.

Just thinking about this makes me laugh. Agatha Assenmacher wasnt laughing because I threw up all over her.
That was my first and last experience on a rollercoaster. I dont ride them out of deference to the other people.

I was five. I thought it was going to be like a bigger version of the little choo-choo train I usually rode. Dad felt I was old enough for something more intense. But he didn't tell me what was going to happen. He sat next to me. That rollarcoaster did everthing but go to the moon and back. The whole time i was thinking two things: it can't be dangerous if Dad's along, but it sure seems dangerous. Very. I couldn't believe what was happening. I thought it would never end. When it did I got out - shakily - and thought,I don't really trust my dad's judgement too much anymore. I never really did, either. I always thought he was going to pull a fast one. The whole gag was that this would take me by surprise. It did. After that I learned to ask questions before I did anything because somebody recommended it. I still do.

Well, I was young,
and I believe I went
on Disneyland's Thunder Mountain,
and I don't remember anything,
but I do remember when I went
with my friend's family, and we
went on the Matterhorn with her 4
year old brother. He was screaming
the whole time, and was crying
saying I never want to go on that again,
he'll get over it, as he gets older.

It was 1974 and I was 8 years old. Hershey Park's "Comet" was still *the* newest and fastest roller coaster. Dad asked me where I wanted to sit. Of course I told him that I wanted the front seat, and we got it. I was hooked for life from that moment on.

scared, but really excited. i was at disney world. but actually, i was laughing the whole way down because my friend was screaming at the top of her lungs, and it was really funny. but then we made it a tradition to scream as loud and hard as we could down every rollercoaster, and make funny poses for the picture (:
