the rich man has his hair neatly styled, brand new outfit, wears work suit all the time, goes to expensive places, has leather shoes, smiling all the time. the poor man wears a jersey, goes to cheapo places, hair uncut, scruffy, old shoes, frowns contstantly.

Asking if they are happy, the poor man is probably happy because they have friendships and family and know what is important in life where the rich man buys friendships and family and really doesn't know what is important in life.

I would say in the way that they act and their manners tell if they are polite reguraly the poor have a not so happy attitude in their points of view.
